The purpose of the lunch will be to celebrate the participation of all UM faculty and students who attended the Mississippi Academy of Sciences (MAS) Spring Meeting in 2011, and to conduct an interdisciplinary discussion about the value of, and barriers to, broader UM participation in future MAS activities.
Our special guest will be MAS President Elect Dr. Tina Martin, PhD, RN, CFNP, Professor of Nursing, University of Mississippi Medical Center.

In addition to those who attended MAS in 2011 as presenters, exhibitors, or general participants, we encourage any student conducting or planning research (and faculty advisors of student researchers) to come learn more about the Mississippi Academy of Sciences as a venue for sharing research, networking, and recruiting. Science department chairs are especially encouraged to attend or send a representative.
