The State of Research at UM

Wednesday, September 29 Dr. Ronald F. Borne, interim vice chancellor for research, and other Office of Research staff will discuss the current and future state of research at UM, recent initiatives aimed at providing new and better service to faculty, and an update on opportunities for research through the Mississippi Research Consortium.

Internet II

Tuesday, October 19 Dr. Kathryn F. Gates, director of academic computing and support services and research assistant professor of computer science, will lead a panel discussion with UM faculty who contributed components to the recently successful Internet II proposal. Discussion will focus on how those researchers plan to make use of the connection to Internet II, what capability this high-speed connection will bring the University, and how other researchers might be able to incorporate this resource into their work and network.

The Mississippi University Research Authority (MURA)

Wednesday, October 27 Established in 1992, MURA is designed specifically to improve opportunities for commercialization of research originating in universities. Join the Research Forum to learn what every faculty member should know about MURA.

Congressional Initiatives
