The 2017 SEC Academic Conference will be held March 27-28 in Starkville, Mississippi, at The Mill Conference Center at Mississippi State University. Entitled “The Future of Water: Regional Collaboration on Shared Climate, Coastlines, and Watersheds,” this event will showcase contributions from researchers at SEC universities and from around the region.
ORSP Faculty Travel Grants are available for the $175 cost for early registration of UM faculty members/researchers attending this event. Transportation funds will be available as follows:
-
solo travellers driving private or rental vehicles: up to $50 dollars towards eligible transportation expenses (see http://procurement.olemiss.edu/travel/modes-of-transportation/ ).
-
carpoolers driving private or rental vehicles: up to $100 per round trip to Starkville ($200 max) towards eligible transportation expenses. To meet the “carpooler” threshold, drivers must carry at least one other ORSP Travel Award recipient to the conference. If you are interested in being a DRIVER or a PASSENGER of a carpool to this event, please indicate that in the narrative of your travel grant proposal. ORSP will follow up with all travel grant recipients to try to arrange these carpools.
To request this travel grant, use the InfoReady Review portal, following the instructions at http://research.olemiss.edu/resources/faculty-travel, no later than February 15, 2017. In the online field called “SEC Sponsored Event?” choose “Yes.” Include proof of registration in your Supporting Documents upload. In the Summary Justification document, be sure to let us know whether you are interested in driving SOLO, or participating in a carpool as a DRIVER or PASSENGER. If you already know who you plan to travel with, let us know that as well. Someone in ORSP will be in touch before the end of February to confirm your travel grant/amount and coordinate carpools as appropriate.
