Center of Biomedical Research Excellence and the Center of Research Excellence in Natural Products Neuroscience--University of Mississippi


Program:  The Center of Research Excellence in Natural Products Neuroscience (CORE-NPN) is a research and training program at the University of Mississippi that is funded by the National Institutes of Health and is part of the Institutional Development Award (IDeA) of the National Institute of General Medical Sciences.  The mission of the CORE-NPN is to support high quality basic and mechanistic research to identify and characterize the neuroactive constituents and properties of natural products.  As part of this mission, the CORE-NPN will fund full-time faculty who conduct research at the interface of natural products and neuroscience.

Funding: Small Grants budgets for direct costs of $25,000 per year for a project period of up to two years may be requested.

Application Deadline: June 10, 2013

Eligibility: Full time faculty at the University of Mississippi who conduct research at the interface of natural products and neuroscience with an emphasis on the endocannabinoid and opioid systems are eligible to apply.
