Euphiazene Gray to Join NFSMI

Euphiazene GrayThe Office of Research and Sponsored Programs says good-bye this month to Euphiazene Gray, who has accepted a position as Program Assistant in the National Food Service Management Institute (NFSMI). Gray joined the OR in 1993 as Sponsored Programs Coordinator. In that role she has been solely responsible for processing awards (overseeing approval by PIs and institutional authorities and working with the Accounting Office to ensure accounts are established). Gray also maintained the OR database of applications and awards, generating monthly and annual reports, and assisted in review of awards. Gray came to the OR from the Graduate School, where she held a variety of positions, including Supervisor of Graduate Records. Previously, she had worked in the Documents Department of the Main library and in the law library. Her undergraduate degree in Library Science is from UM. In her new position at NFSMI Gray will maintain the records for on-going projects and assist in the processing of contracts and agreements. Last year NFSMI projects totaled just under $4 million; the Institute receives approximately $3 million annually from USDA alone. The OR thanks Euphiazene for the role she has played in creating and maintaining an effective environment for research administration, and wishes her the best of luck in her new position.
