The Mississippi Biotechnology Association, an affiliate of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (http://www.bio.org/articles/about-bio), has contracted with Battelle to do a study of the ag/life science/biotechnology capabilities of Mississippi. Battelle is visiting each of the research universities gathering information on projects underway related to biotechnology, biosciences and health-related research. Representatives from Battelle and the MS Technology Alliance will be on our campus all day May 24 and the morning of May 25.
UM Biotechnology/biomedical/health-related life sciences researchers are invited to attend scheduled meetings with the Battelle and MTA visitors to discuss your active research projects or expertise/capabilities related to the topics below. If you cannot attend, feel free to send a representative or to provide us with a brief (1-2 page) description of your relevant projects/capabilities to share with Battelle. Attendees are welcome, but not required, to bring a 1-2 page project/capabilities description to the meeting as well. If you already provided ORSP with your Biosciences capabilities listing in response to our request earlier this month, then we have those documents and will make sure the Battelle visitors get copies.
