About the Speakers:

Dr. Haper is a clinical assistant professor in the School of Education the Interim Director of CERE.
Mr. Rutherford is the Project Coordinator for CERE.

About CERE: The UM Center for Educational Research and Evaluation (CERE) offers evaluative services to departments within The University of Mississippi and to other public and private agencies. These services include grant writing support (free to anyone who includes CERE as external evaluator in a grant proposal); evaluation design; data collection and analyses; and evaluation report writing. CERE collects both quantitative and qualitative data from grant-funded projects. Specifically, CERE provides onsite administration of standardized assessment instruments or other protocols; analyses of changes in student achievement and attitudes; development of survey instruments; database management (design, entry, manipulation, and reporting of data); interviews with research subjects; interpretation of findings from both quantitative and qualitative research; and professional development related to research and evaluation methods as well as research-based practices in education.
